Monaco : 2
PSG : 4
Monaco can clearly have regrets. Because if the Monegasques were trailing at the break (0-1) on Wednesday evening in their stadium, they then upset Paris Saint-Germain during the second half.
ASM even took the lead on the hour mark (2-1), but the Parisians showed great spirit to snatch their twelfth league victory of the season (2-4) . They are thus still undefeated: twelve wins, four draws, zero defeats.
A double for Dembélé
It was therefore the players from the capital who quickly and logically opened the score. Well placed behind, Désiré Doué, in very good form currently, benefited from the work of Achraf Hakimi to slip the ball into the back of the net (0-1, 24e). The Monegasque reaction was very tender and the score did not change until the break.
Events accelerated thereafter. Maghnes Akliouche found the… hand of Marquinhos in the area and Eliesse Ben Seghier transformed the penalty (1-1, 53e), for his fifth goal of the season. Seven minutes later, Akliouche was decisive again. After an acceleration on the left side, he crossed towards Breel Embolo, very well placed in the area (2-1, 60e).
What to consider a first Parisian defeat? Luis Enrique’s men, in fact, did not really have time to doubt. From 64e minute, Ousmane Dembélé equalized, foxing the surfaces after a save from Philipp Köhn (2-2, 64e).
Twenty minutes later, it was the powerful header of Gonçalo Ramos, who came on shortly before, which gave PSG the advantage again, from a corner (2-3, 83e).
Monaco then launched into attack wholeheartedly. But Takumi Minamino notably missed a great opportunity (85e). And, finally, Dembélé closed the scoring by going deep to the edge of offside, before poking his ball perfectly at the end of the race (2-4, 97e), scoring a double and his eighth goal in Ligue 1.
With this success, Paris took ten points ahead of Monaco in the ranking…
