18/12/24 – Acquisition – Versailles, National Museum of the Palaces of Versailles and Trianon – Patience is the mother of virtue, must say the Versailles teams who saw an impressive Sèvres porcelain biscuit escape in the spring whose reappearance caused an event at the Hôtel Drouot: then estimated at €20/30,000 by the expert Maxime Charron, he was snapped up at Auctie’s for €170,000 hammer – €217,600 including fees – and therefore exceeded cheerfully the means provided by Versailles, an emissary of which was in the room and could just see the auctions soar. However, luck ends up smiling since it only took a few months to see this model on the market again: a new copy opportunely appeared during a sale (see the news item from 16/12/24) at Artcurial , in time for Christmas!
