The disciplinary committee has delivered its verdicts. If the supporters of AS Saint-Etienne were sanctioned quite heavily, this is not the case for the Brigade Loire of FC Nantes. The commission also ruled on the case of Rennes.
The disciplinary committee made a decision straight to the point. After the numerous smoke bombs lit during the match between AS Saint-Etienne and Olympique de Marseille, the commission decided to impose two suspension matches, including one by revocation of a previous suspension, on the lower parts of the two corners . The stands will be open during the match against OM, this Sunday, December 22, in the Coupe de France, the sanction taking effect only from December 24.
The Loire Brigade is doing well
The thorny case of FC Nantes also came back on the table. The commission decided not to increase the sanction against the Brigade Loire, the main group of supporters of the Canaries. During the defeat against Le Havre on November 24, the BL twice forced the interruption of the meeting, with throwing objects and attempts to invade the pitch.
In the end, the Loire Brigade received a suspended closing match. The Nantes team will therefore be very present during FC Nantes’ upcoming home matches. A breath of fresh air for the group of supporters while Bruno Retailleau, resigning Minister of the Interior, had called for the dissolution of the group of supporters.
The Rennes case also came before the disciplinary committee. The lower part of the Mordelles stand at Roazhon Park will be closed for a match after the use of pyrotechnic devices against AS Saint-Etienne.
Concerning the sanctions attributed to players, Pol Lirola (OM) received a two-match suspension after his violent tackle, against LOSC, on André Gomes. Jonathan Clauss (Nice) and Nicolas Tagliafico (OM) will miss a match for accumulating yellow cards.
