This Tuesday, several police cars crossed the city center, sirens blaring. At the same time, agents from the anti-crime brigade (BAC) carried out a foot patrol in the Faubourg de France sector. These clues suggested a targeted operation, intended to arrest suspects. At the end of the afternoon, operators from the Operational Command and Supervision Center (COCS) noticed the suspicious behavior of a group composed of a 27-year-old woman, a 37-year-old man and two children. , aged 13 and 9 years old.

For almost an hour and a half, the adults went to several businesses in the city center after a detour to the ice rink on Place Corbis. Their unusual attitude intrigued the municipal police officers stationed at the COCS, who decided to follow them using the network of video surveillance cameras. Finally, the suspects headed towards Belfort Ville station, arousing suspicion of shoplifting. The images captured by the video surveillance were transmitted to the Information and Command Center, which immediately dispatched two patrols to the station.
Spotted at the station
The suspects were intercepted while they were in a TER. Once on board, the police discovered a bag under their seat containing various new items: chocolate bars, luxury perfumes, several boxes of cosmetic products and a pair of shoes.
Interpellations
The adults were ordered to get off the train and were taken to the police station to be questioned. As for the children, they were taken care of by the department’s Child Welfare Department.
