The man who was driving a line 1 bus stopped his vehicle to force two users who were used to not paying for their fares to get off on December 6. An altercation ensued, which has since been relayed on social media.
“By Allah I will fuck you!”, “Son of a bitch.” Between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., the scene takes place on a line 1 bus, in Toulouse, on December 6. Revealing the incivility faced by bus drivers, it has since been widely relayed on social networks. In the short sequence, filmed by a traveler, a driver orders two passengers without transport tickets, boarding at the Barcelona-Maréchal Leclerc stop, to leave the vehicle.
“You get out of here.”, “you’re going down very quickly!”, “you get out”annoys the man who stopped his bus, and grabs one of the young people to force him to get off. But the two individuals are reluctant. One of them spits in his face, before directing a barrage of insults, then returning to the charge to provoke a fight, throwing kicks a few meters away from him. “Come on! Come!”he tells him, approaching the driver who is returning to his post.
“Multiple offenders”
Since then, neither the driver nor the two passengers have filed a complaint. The altercation ended in an explanation the next day, when the protagonists met again in line 1, which connects Côte Pavée and Sept Deniers, to Toulouse. “They discussed calmly, and the matter was settled like this”indicates the Tisséo Voyageurs group, in charge of the city’s urban transport. The two passengers are well known to the driver, this is not the first time that they have taken a seat on the line without presenting a transport ticket. “They are repeat offenders. They received several fines which they never regularized”notes the group.
An official interview with the driver in front of his superiors will take place this Thursday. “But this is not a summons”we assure at Tisséo Voyageurs, “the word is not adjusted. “It’s just normal procedure when an incident like this takes place.” He continues: “We will talk with the driver to find out how he is doing. There is no question of dismissal.”
For his part, the person concerned returned to work after a few days of rest, following the episode. He also received the support of the mayor of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Moudenc, who condemned the behavior of these users. “We must never let the incivility of a few smart people pass”he commented in a post on X. “Thank you to the bus driver for allowing a return to order. He has my full support.”
