This strengthening of position was noted in a joint press release sanctioning the meeting by videoconference, Wednesday, between Ian Borg, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism of Malta, and Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation African and Moroccans residing abroad, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In the same press release, Malta, a member of the UN Security Council, “considers the autonomy plan presented (by Morocco) in 2007 as a serious and credible contribution to the political process led by the UN to advance the process towards a definitive resolution», et «encourages all parties to demonstrate greater political will towards a definitive solution and to renew their commitment to UN efforts in a spirit of realism and compromise».

Furthermore, the two ministers praised the excellent relations between Morocco and Malta and reiterated their common desire to further strengthen them in all areas.
