Metro reliability in Lyon on the TCL network has improved on almost all lines in 2024, compared to 2023.
Two weeks before the end of the year, it is time to take stock. And the environmentalist president of the Metropolis of Lyon and Sytral took part in the game on Wednesday December 18 on his X account where he published the performance figures for the four metro lines of the TCL network.
Results: three of the four lines have seen their reliability improve. “Our Lyon metro network will return to performance levels in 2024 that make it one of the best European networks“, welcomes Bruno Bernard who also promises that “the renovation of the network will allow its capacity to increase by +65% over the next 12 years.“.

As a reminder, 1.7 billion euros will be invested in the four metro lines of the TCL network by 2035 as part of a modernization plan which aims in particular to cope with the increase in ridership.
For example, on line A all systems and rolling stock reaching the end of their life will be replaced and the line fully automated. A project whose budget amounts to 686 million euros and which will make it possible to deploy screen doors to prevent intrusions on the tracks and to purchase 20 new high-capacity automatic trains. Line A will also be equipped with cameras from 2025.
