???????? Aix-en-Provence. 20-year-old shot dead during drug transaction

A tragedy unfolded on the night of Tuesday December 17 in Aix-en-Provence. Around midnight, emergency services intervened near avenue Philippe-Solari, near the Bellevue residence, where a 20-year-old young man was found dead, shot. When they arrived, he was already dead.

A drug transaction that turns into a tragedy

According to the first elements of the investigation, the victim, known to the justice services, met his attackers as part of a drug transaction. The prosecution confirmed to France Bleu Provence that it was an altercation between two groups of people.

Four individuals in a Renault allegedly threatened the three occupants of an Opel Corsa. According to witnesses, one of the attackers shot one of the passengers in the Opel, fatally hitting him in the neck. The attackers then allegedly stole the vehicle and fled.

Investigation entrusted to the specialized division

On site, the police found two 9 mm caliber shell casings, confirming the use of a firearm. The investigation was entrusted to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS), responsible for shedding light on the circumstances of this murder.

Violence linked to drug trafficking

This homicide takes place in a context where score-settling linked to drug trafficking continues to hit the region. The authorities are now seeking to identify the perpetrators of this fatal attack and to understand the details of this transaction which turned into a tragedy.
