FOOTBALL – Regional 1: A welcome truce for Camon, still defeated

US Camon did not end the year 2024 in the best way, losing to Gravelines (3-1). Now 11th in their group, the break should allow them to breathe physically and mentally to hope for survival at the end of the season.

The success in the derby against the Portuguese only seemed to be a small bright spot in a very dark Camonois sky. Defeated at home last week, Frédéric Bornoville’s players lost again, away this time, against Gravelines. And the hopes of Yellow and Black were quickly dissipated, the latter conceding three goals in the first halfdespite the numerous saves from its goalkeeper and captain, Maxime Josse. The visitors returned from the locker room with better intentions and were rewarded on the hour mark with a reduction in the score signed, Mohamed Ramla. But the Samarians fell back into their mistakes and were very close to taking a fourth goal, the Northerners missing a penalty and hitting the post. The score no longer moved and Camon logically suffered a seventh defeat in the last eight meetings. The winter break comes at a good time for the Camonois who will surely be keen to start 2025 better than they ended 2024.
