Mr. Trudeau was to answer questions from Paul Larocque on Thursday on LCN in a one-on-one interview, but ultimately will not participate in the exercise.

- and Global News also received similar indications Tuesday evening.

The Prime Minister has been going through a rough patch since his Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Chrystia Freeland, announced that she was leaving her post on Monday, a few hours before the presentation of her economic update.

The announcement particularly upset the agenda of the Prime Minister who had to hastily appoint Dominic LeBlanc as new Minister of Finance.

The latter in turn had the difficult task of presenting an economic update which showed worse results than expected.

Mr. Trudeau admitted last night that Monday “was not an easy day” during a speech at a Liberal rally in Gatineau.

Tuesday evening, he also spoke to members of his party at a Liberal Christmas party in Ottawa.

Moreover, Chrystia Freeland, who is still an MP, was seen among those present at the Liberal rally.
