The memorandum was initialed by the Minister Delegate, in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni and the Saudi Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha, in presence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in Riyadh, Mustapha Mansouri, on the sidelines of the United Nations Forum on Internet Governance, which is being held from December 15 to 19 in Saudi Arabia.
This partnership aims to strengthen coordination and cooperation between the two parties through support for research and innovation, the adoption of new technologies in the field of E-government and the sharing of best practices, as well as the consolidation of specialized capacities, indicates a press release from the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform.
Before signing this memorandum of understanding, Ms. Seghrouchni held talks with Mr. Al-Swaha, which focused on ways to strengthen cooperation and explore partnership prospects between the two parties in the areas of digital transformation, artificial intelligence and optimization of E-government services.
The meeting was also an opportunity to look at cooperation in terms of digital infrastructure relating to the sports field, “especially as the two countries are preparing to host the 2030 and 2034 Football World Cups, which requires ensuring a unique experience for visitors participating in this leading international event.”
In this regard, Ms. Seghrouchni highlighted the need to take advantage of the opportunities offered by cutting-edge technologies to develop various vital areas, including access to digital and AI to preserve and promote Saudi culture and national heritage and Moroccan in an innovative way.
For his part, the Saudi minister emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise and experiences between the two countries.
The 19th Internet Governance Forum, organized annually by the United Nations, brings together more than 10,000 participants from 160 countries, as well as a thousand international speakers and experts.
