Instant “expense reports” at the agglomeration, during the debates on the president’s representation expenses. First, Paul Euzière was concerned about who pays the bill when the members of the community office [ils sont 26] have lunch together.

“Only before the council meetingsspecifies Jérôme Viaud. That’s six meals a year.” Who, taken “in the restaurant or on the terrace [du siège de la CAPG, avenue Pierre-Sémard] are the responsibility of the agglomeration. “We have never deliberated in this direction. We must do it or we are illegal,” warns Paul Euzière.

“Dubai will be part of the CAPG?”

Returning to the president’s representation costs, the latter then questions the appearance of such a deliberation: “During the previous mandate [2014-2020]you didn’t have one, nor since 2020. Why these representation costs?” Question of transparency, assures Jérôme Viaud: “A few weeks ago, I flew to Dubai and back, and the airfare was covered by CAPG. I think it’s better to show it in the entertainment expenses of the president [données publiques]than direct support by the CAPG.” Teasing, Paul Euzière is surprised: “Dubai is going to be part of the CAPG? That’s a scoop!”

Promising “tight negotiations” and outfits “secret”Jérôme Viaud reveals: “More seriously, I went to Beautyworld, a world congress which is held there [du 28 au 30 octobre; une antenne du Institute of Perfumery y a été inaugurée]to exchange with them.” Collaboration in sight?

President Viaud left the room at the time of the vote, Stéphane Cassarini (Grasse) also had comments to make. On a much less cheerful tone…

“When we takes 10,000 e to the agglomeration of representation costs, 5,000 e to the City [en tant que maire de Grasse]I consider that it is a real annuity” he asserts.

He thus considers that “the meals, the 15,000 e, the return trips to Dubai” are the sign “a total disconnection of certain elected officials with what people experience, when we see the amount of a minimum wage. We are not very far from abuse…”

“Total disconnection”

Jérôme Viaud absent, it is therefore his 1st vice-president, Jean-Marc Délia (Saint-Vallier) who counterattacks: “The sums you mention are ceilings and are not an income, but the counterpart of a commitment for the agglomeration.” He takes the opportunity for a little sliding tackle, a reference to the absences of the Grasse elected official in session: “Speaking of which, it’s good to see you from time to time, Mr. Cassarini…”

Stéphane Cassarini who will vote against the deliberation, when Magali Conesa, Paul Euzière and David Varrone (Andon) abstained.
