Like the Espoirs (see above), the Castres Olympique teams particularly shone this weekend.
The elite women’s under-18s thus signed their second success of the season by managing to win on the pitch of Colomiers, member of the leading trio. A very good performance acquired through stubbornness. Trailing 14-10, the Castreses were able to find the necessary resources to then keep their line clean and score two converted tries (14-24). The Alamercery did not make the trip to Narbonne for nothing since they returned from the Aimé Cassayet stadium with a victory (7-19) which allows them to distance themselves a little further from their opponents of the day.
Although beaten, the Crabos were absolutely not unworthy and returned from Narbonne with the defensive bonus point and certainly the bitter taste of having come so close to victory. Trailing 8-0, they were able to reverse the trend in the second half to finally fail with a short header (8-7).
The senior women, playing in federal 2, for their part came close to an authentic feat. Leading 12-3 at the break, thanks to tries from Alexia Wild and Alice Gay, against the undefeated leader, the Castraises increased the size of their lead to sixteen units after a try from Justine Escrouzailles (19-3 47th). The awakening of the Toulouse TUC, authors of three tries in ten minutes and a penalty at the siren, would ultimately leave them with only the benefit of the defensive bonus point (19-23). However, an encouraging defeat for the rest of the competition and the years to come. Let it be said, rugby is also played by women on the banks of the Agoût.
