For a reason still unknown, a fire broke out this Tuesday, December 17, shortly after 8:30 a.m., in an apartment located on the ground floor in a four-story building located at 11, rue des Pyramides, in Thionville. A call to 18 reported dense smoke in the building’s common areas, as well as flames.
A large rescue team, made up of around thirty firefighters from the centers of Thionville, Yutz, Florange, Hayange and Moyeuvre-Grande, was dispatched to the scene, as well as two ladders and an ambulance.
Around ten residents were temporarily evacuated from the building while emergency services brought the disaster under control and carried out the necessary operations. The occupant of the accommodation concerned, a young woman aged 27, was transported to Bel-Air hospital. Slightly injured, the latter inhaled fumes from the disaster which ravaged a large part of her apartment. Around 11 a.m., emergency services left the scene. The residents were all able to return to their homes, with the exception of the occupant of the apartment destroyed by the flames who will have to be relocated with relatives.
Police from the Thionville police station were also on site to carry out the usual findings with a view to the investigation which will determine the origin of the disaster which, for the moment, remains unknown.
