Guest on BFM2, Angélique Angarni-Filopon, who had already tried her luck at Miss Martinique in 2011, spoke about developments in the beauty contest, 13 years after her first participation.
Before winning Miss France, Saturday December 14, Angélique Angarni-Filopon had already tried her luck at Miss Martinique in 2011, but unfortunately did not succeed in passing the regional selections.
Despite everything, the new Miss France was able, thanks to this experience, to observe numerous developments in the progress of the beauty contest. Starting with the relaxation of the rules for participation of candidates, since 2022, which notably allowed her to be able to run for Miss France at the age of 34.
“Everything has changed a little. (…) Historically we were used to knowing Misses very young, after their studies. I arrive, I leave the professional world”, she confides at the microphone of BFM2, three days after his coronation.
Thanks to the evolution of the rules of the competition, Angélique Angarni-Filopon also became the first tattooed Miss to be elected Miss France. The young woman has two tattoos on her left arm, which was prohibited for candidates until 2022.
“The main value is sisterhood”
Since her first attempt in 2011, the new Miss France also notes more “naturalness” and “kindness” between the different candidates this year. “The emphasis is on kindness. We were told several times a day to be kind to each other,” she says.
“It remains a competition, of course, but above all we are women and the main value is sorority,” adds Angélique Angarni-Filopon.
“All of this is really, I think, to move towards a more natural dimension of the Miss competitions and to have women who express themselves, who are not afraid to put forward their ideas,” she concluded.
