the essential
During the discussions of the plenary session of the Tarn-et-Garonne departmental council, the extreme right managed to rally the entire opposition to its cause, including elected officials proclaiming themselves “left-wing”…
The time has come for clarification. Including within the departmental council of Tarn-et-Garonne. While the “union of the rights” is being emulated in the National Assembly, it is also being invited to the departmental assembly, Monday December 16, 2024.

Twice, the right and the far right came to an agreement. They even took under their wings the self-proclaimed “central” group of “Mobilized”, formerly in charge between 2015 and 2021. But also, and this is more surprising, a self-proclaimed “left” elected official, Ghislain Descazeaux.
For the LGV study union
This was first the case for the designation of members of the open joint mobility union of Tarn-et-Garonne for the high-speed line (LGV). The majority had thus thought of five incumbents (Michel Weill, Jean-Michel Baylet, Valérie Rabault, José Gonzalez and Marie-Claude Nègre) and five substitutes (Catherine Bourdoncle, Anne Ius, Jean-Luc Deprince, Jérôme Beq and Alain Belloc).
The oppositions united their voices to propose a common list, bringing together elected officials from the National Rally (Romain Lopez and Any Delcher) with former deputies of Brigitte Barèges (now UDR) at the town hall of Montauban (Bernard Pécou and Clarrise Heulland), Mobilized (Jean-Claude Bertelli) or even Liliane Morvan, partner of Mr. Descazeaux.
Finally, the majority list was elected (sixteen votes in favor). “This is a study union. Everything that will be undertaken in terms of work will be voted on by the departmental council,” reassured Valérie Rabault.
For a grant of 200,000 euros
At the end of the session, after 4 p.m., a proposal from all minority groups and non-registered people was also examined, concerning a subsidy for the Castelsarrasin-Moissac intercommunal hospital of 200,000 euros.
A subject already raised by the mayor of the Uval city during the previous session in October. A desire which seems to be in disagreement with all the budgetary orientations which were presented by Valérie Rabault on Monday December 16, based rather on controlling spending for the year 2025, in the face of the inflationary context on the one hand, and the drop in allocations of the State of approximately ten million euros on the other hand.
And, finally, faced with the drastic drop in net savings, falling from 35 to 3 million euros between 2023 and 2024. The proposal will nevertheless be discussed at a future session.
