The municipality came to help the inhabitants of the province of Valencia, in Spain, affected by the floods at the end of October, starting with an evening of solidarity and humanity at the village hall, Friday December 13. One hundred and eighty people gathered while the collective led by Vivre à Aniane was counting on only 150.
It was therefore necessary to extend the tables and add cutlery. “Between donations and receipts from the bar and meals, we think we can send around €4,000 to Spain”said Mario, co-president of Vivre à Aniane. A superb amount to support the Coordinadora Parque Alcosa in the village of Alfafar, close to the large disaster-stricken town. Before the gastronomic celebrations and the paella, the assembly was able to participate in discussions and shed light on the events. The evening stretched out with concerts by the Vivre à Aniane choir who sang tunes from Catalan folklore, before being followed by Afrocoeur by Jocelyn Balu and the power of its 25 singers, Vivattack, as well as Serge Vilamajó and his trio. “We put together this evening with urgency thanks to the linking of the greatest enthusiasm, the best energy and the best skills of each of the participating associations” Mario pointed out.
