The Sète association Casa de España is sending the fruit of its collection this Tuesday.
At the beginning of November, the Sète association Casa de España launched a major collection for the benefit of the Spanish people affected by the dramatic floods that occurred in Valencia. A month and a half later, a first trip to the martyred city of Paiporta will leave this Tuesday, December 17 from Sète. A truck, loaded with 1.7 tonnes of material, will make the eight long drive towards the south of Valencia.
“A real pride, and even a duty”
“Paiporta was the first village affected by bad weather, recalls the president of Casa de España, Jorge Vaello. We had to extend the collection time to obtain all the authorizations to arrive at our destination. It is a real pride, and even a duty, for us to provide assistance to this region and its inhabitants.”
This truck, provided by the City of Sète and which could precede a second convoy set up within a few days, is filled with hygiene and household products, canned goods, children’s toys, clothing and medical equipment. Blankets, donated by a retirement home, drawings and little words, from a collection carried out at the Joliot-Curie high school, and other donations notably from Saint-Joseph college, complete this solidarity trip.
