We can totally imagine the atmosphere: music, a pretty terrace overlooking the Odet, an aperitif board to share with friends, lanterns… The future tavern of the Place des Acadiens in Quimper (Finistère) is still only a project resulting from the participatory budget of the City.

This week, the community is launching a call for applications to give it substance. We owe it to Corinne Priol who moved to Quimper in 2018.

I often walk along the Odet. And I imagined a place where we could meet up, chat, listen to music, have something to eat.

A budget of 15,000 euros

This tavern was included in the 2022 participatory budget and allocated 15,000 euros. It took a long time to come to fruition because there were many constraints:

We had to find a place that would not be subject to flooding, that would be connected to water and electricity, that would not disturb local residents… We studied many locations to finally choose the old Vedettes premises. of Odet.

Property of the City, this building is 15 m2. A terrace of the same size could be installed right next to it, along the boom. “We expect candidates to do a little catering and entertainment. Both aspects are very important,” presents Yves Formentin-Mory, municipal councilor responsible for participatory democracy.

From April 1 to September 30

Vincent Le Gall, president of the Cap-Horn neighborhood association, is delighted with this prospect. However, he regrets not having been associated: “we have been fighting for years to get this premises back into business. We intervened with the Vedettes de l’Odet, with the community… And we were not consulted about this tavern. It’s regrettable. »

The tavern should open from 1is April to September 30. Candidates have until February 10 to submit their offer for an opening scheduled for no later than February 1is May.

The jury will be made up of elected officials, technicians and Corinne Priol who appreciates discovering behind the scenes and the constraints of a community.
