While Amiens SC hoped to have restarted the machine after their success in Grenoble, Omar Daf’s men immediately fell back against Laval, conceding their first defeat of the season at home. Discover the different additional classifications at the end of the 16th day of Ligue 2.
Lorient takes control, Martigues sinks
Highly anticipated, the duel at the top between Lorient and Paris FC turned in favor of Merlus, thanks to a quick goal from Julien Ponceau and a break obtained by Sambou Soumano in added time. This success allows the Bretons to take the lead in the championship, now two points ahead of the Parisians. The podium is now completed by Dunkerque. A week after their defeat in Metz, Yacine Bammou’s teammates reacted in the best possible way by winning against a disappointing Caen team, on the edge of the red zone halfway through. Definitely surprising, Annecy stood up to Metz at the Sports Park. A result which allows the two teams to complete the top 5. On the other hand, Martigues suffered the law of Troyes (4-0). An eleventh defeat in sixteen matches which led to the dismissal of Thierry Laurey.
The results of the 16th day of Ligue 2:

Amiens – Laval: 1-3
Bastia – Guingamp : 3-1
Clermont – Rodez: 1-1
Red Star – Grenoble : 3-1

Dunkirk – Caen: 3-1
The defense continues to worry
With a less flamboyant Régis Gurtner, Amiens SC conceded three goals against Laval in the same match for the fifth time this season. Beyond a first defeat at home, this seventh setback confirmed concerns about the aftermath of Mamadou Fofana, the Jaouab-Urhoghide tandem once again displaying little serenity. However, the Picardy club remains in the first part of the table, with one unit ahead of Pau, the current tenth. A time leader at home, Amiens also fell in this specific ranking after a third consecutive match without success (2 draws, 1 defeat).
General ranking: 8th (23 points) (15 matches played)
Attack ranking: 9th (20 goals scored)
Defense ranking: 12th (21 goals conceded) (-3)
Home ranking: 6th (17 points) (8 matches played) (-2)
Away ranking: 14th (6 points) (8 matches played)
Leautey gets closer to Mafouta
Another scorer against Laval, Antoine Leautey brought his personal total to five units, thus breaking his record for an entire season. At the same time, the winger returned to a goal of Louis Mafoutasilent since the victory against Ajaccio, seven consecutive matches. His last goal in the game even dates back to September 24 in Caen. Already a scorer twice in the Coupe de France, Elyess Dao is still looking for his first league goal. Nevertheless, the young (18 years old) attacker proved decisive for the very first time by being at the origin of the goal scored by Antoine Leautey against Tango.
Scorers: 1. Louis Mafouta: 6 goals / 2. Antoine Leautey: 5 goals (+1) / 3. Kylian Kaïboue: 3 goals / 4. Osaze Urhoghide, Nordine Kandil (+1): 2 goals / 5. Siaka Bakayoko: 1 goal
Passers: 1. Sébastien Corchia: 4 assists / 2. Rayan Lutin: 3 assists / 3. Frank Boya, Louis Mafouta, Kylian Kaïboue, Antoine Leautey, Owen Gene, Elyess Dao (+1): 1 assist
