The British company operating in mineral exploration, Critical Mineral Resources (CMR PLC), recently announced the finalization of its first lead transaction in Morocco.
CMR PLC operates by sourcing metal concentrates from small-scale miners in resource-rich regions of Morocco. These raw materials are then marketed either via the Casablanca Commodity Exchange or directly to international customers.
In 2024, the company has already successfully carried out several similar operations, notably in copper and antimony. This first lead transaction demonstrates CMR’s ambitions to expand its portfolio of activities in a sector where Morocco is among the main African lead producers.
“We are delighted to have concluded our first transaction in the lead space, a promising segment that could see significant growth driven by Morocco’s production levels,” said Charlie Long, Managing Director of Critical Mineral Resources PLC.
And added: “our expertise and solid relationships in the Moroccan mining and trading sectors allow us to progress quickly and efficiently. This will be decisive for the future development of our mining projects and the creation of value for our shareholders.”
