Two people, a man and a woman, were shot and killed in La Seyne-sur-Mer, near Toulon, we learned on Sunday from consistent sources.
The victims, a couple, were killed at 10:30 p.m. Saturday evening in their grocery store located in the city center, near the port, according to the police and the Toulon prosecutor's office. The couple, originally from Marseille, had settled in Seyne-sur-Mer two months earlier, according to a press release from the public prosecutor's office.
The man, aged 29, was the son of the manager of the grocery store where he was killed, shot three times in the head. He was known to the police, said the prosecution, adding that he had been convicted 10 years ago for drug trafficking and was “indicted in Marseille for acts of criminal association with a view to preparing of a crime”, facts for which he was currently under judicial supervision.
The woman, aged 31, was also fatally shot in the head.
“At this stage nothing indicates whether it is one or more shooters, even if it appears that the perpetrator(s) fired several times,” mentioned the prosecution.
The DCOS, Organized and Specialized Crime Division of the national police, was seized of the case. Autopsies will be carried out this week.
