Senegal stood out during the African Jijutsu Championships organized in Marrakech (Morocco) from December 10 to 15, 2024. The Senegalese delegation of two fighters was among the best, winning a gold medal and a medal of bronze.

Mamadou Lamine Ba once again demonstrated his superiority by winning the gold medal for the second consecutive year in the +94 kg category of the Fighting System. Thanks to this success, he retains his title of African Jujitsu Fighting System champion, thus confirming his status as leader in his category.

In the -69 kg category, Harouna Keita won the bronze medal, winning against opponents from Tunisia and Morocco, in a competition contested by six fighters, two Moroccans, two Gabonese, one Tunisian and a Senegalese.

In the final ranking of nations, Senegal finished third with two medals (1 gold and 1 bronze), behind Tunisia which dominated the tournament with 18 medals including 11 gold and Morocco with 34 medals including 9 gold. This performance by the Senegalese team reflects the rise in the level of jujitsu in Senegal and the preparation of its fighters.
