This year again, Gard Rhodanien is in a good place in the winners of the Gard Gourmand competition, organized by the Gard Departmental Council.
La manade du Joncas, the domain of Clavel, the honey of Roméo Di Prima, Mamie Côtelette and the charcuterie of Laurent Schenkels, or the beer of La Gervoise and the foie gras of La Soleiade, without forgetting the goat cheese from the goat farm from Emilie to Roquemaure.
So many artisans, talents and know-how rewarded by the Gard Gourmand.
So grab your forks, grab your glasses and enjoy your meal!
Domaine Clavel, located in Saint-Gervais, is a real institution in the Gard Rhodanien. For four generations, the Clavel family has cultivated its 100 hectares of vines with passion. Claire Clavel, at the head of the estate since 2014, today embodies this tradition while bringing a touch of modernity.
The estate is known for its quality wines, but it has also been able to innovate by diversifying its production. Among his creations, Vervaine from Clavel stands out. Made from verbena leaves, this refined liqueur won a gold medal in the Gard Gourmand 2024 competition. With its sweetness and originality, it reflects the estate's commitment to preserving traditions while responding to current tastes.
This liqueur is part of a long family history. Claire's grandfather already made artisanal aperitifs such as walnut wine and flower wine. Today, this expertise continues, driven by Claire's dynamism and the experience of her father, who always accompanies her during the harvest.
In 2024, Domaine Clavel also shone internationally with a score of 92/100 awarded by the magazine Wine Enthusiast for its Côtes du Rhône Regulus red 2023. A recognition which illustrates the excellence of the estate, both locally and globally.
