Creuse is one of the departments with the most teachers per hundred students, but this beautiful reality is a trompe l'oeil according to the FSU-SNUIPP 23 which has created a file of ministerial data to highlight the needs of the territory, in anticipation of the school map.
While the previous Government planned to eliminate some 4,000 teaching positions at the start of the next school year, three quarters of which in primary schools, while the next school map will be studied in Januarythe FSU-SUNIPP teaching union of Creuse, is preparing its weapons. He collected all the figures from the Ministry of National Education and the academy inspection : rate of teachers per student, share of schools with one to three classes, schooling of children from the age of 2, number of replacement teachers, etc. Data put into perspective with the reality on the ground and even that of other departments such as Lozère, with a rural profile identical to Creuse. Result: the Creuse union estimates that 48 more positions would be needed, including 18 replacements (and there “urgently“) so that public service goes a little better in Creuse” explains Luc Marquès, the departmental secretary FSU-SNUIPP.
In Creuse, there are 148 schools in 121 municipalities. More than one in two Creuse communes does not have a school. 46.6% of Creuse schools are RPI (intercommunal educational groups). And 71% of Creuse schools have one to three classes (compared to 56.8% in Lozère).
