Originally from Saint-Pierre, Monise Dubourvieux, 24, embodies ambition and the values of authenticity. Pharmacy technician and resident in mainland , this young Islander was recently crowned Miss Small Beauty Réunion. She will proudly represent her native island during the Miss Small Beauty France national election, scheduled for February 22 in Ligueil, in central France.

This competition is distinguished by its inclusive and caring approach: no physical criteria are imposed on the participants. A specificity which resonates deeply with the convictions of the young woman. “My goal is to show young people, especially young women, that they can succeed without trying to conform to the often unrealistic standards broadcast on social networks.”, confides Monise.

A vision of beauty that goes beyond appearance

For this native Saint-Pierroise, beauty is not limited to physical attributes. It lies in personality, attitude and authenticity. Through her involvement in this competition, Monise aspires to deconstruct the clichés linked to beauty pageants, often perceived as superficial.

I am proud to represent my island and I will do my best to make all Reunion Islanders proud by carrying my messages and my simplicity high.”, she explains.

A message for younger generations

Having grown up between Reunion Island and mainland France, Monise has drawn from her personal and professional experiences an observation: lack of self-confidence is a major obstacle, particularly among the younger generations. Based on this observation, she decided to use her voice to raise awareness and encourage young people to accept themselves as they are.

This title of Miss Small Beauty Réunion is not an end in itself for Monise, but a step in her journey. She wants to make this visibility a lever to transmit a message of authenticity, kindness and self-esteem.

Reunionese pride

As she prepares to represent Reunion Island at the national level, Monise Dubourvieux hopes to promote the values of her island and inspire other young Reunion Islanders. “I would be honored to see my story reach more people, to show them that anything is possible when you just be yourself.

Next February, all eyes will be on Ligueil, where Monise will fly the colors of Reunion Island, proving that a beauty contest can be a real springboard for spreading positive and universal values.
