Grenoble Alpes Isère airport, owned by the Department of Isère and managed by VINCI Airports, has just launched its commercial season, with the first flight last Tuesday between Gatwick and Grenoble. The airport took the opportunity to unveil several modernization works on its platform. Thus, a 3rd generation Explosive detection system (EDS) was installed in the baggage sorting area, which was enlarged and redeveloped. This device will make it possible to better inspect and filter hold baggage thanks to three-dimensional visualization on screen. It will be able to screen up to 900 bags per hour. Furthermore, to continue the trajectory of decarbonization of the airport's activities, around ten electric runway machines were recently received. The area dedicated to fuel distribution has been redesigned to open an electricity delivery point and install twelve charging sockets. In the parking lot dedicated to airport staff, six 2.7 kWh sockets as well as an 11 kWh electrical terminal have been set up to recharge cars.
