Morocco is represented in all the shortlists of nominees in the women’s categories of the CAF Awards 2024, published Wednesday by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), on its website.
AS FAR striker Sanaa Mssoudy is in the running for the player of the year title, while her teammate Khadija Er-Rmichi is among the contenders for the goalkeeper of the year title.
The two players from the national team are also nominated for the title of interclub player of the year, alongside their teammate in the military club Doha El Madani. The latter also shares the list of young players of the year with other competitors, including her compatriot Lina Mokhtar Jamai, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain.
In the list of nominees for the title of coach of the year, there are two Moroccans, namely Mohamed Amine Alioua, finalist of the last women’s Champions League with AS FAR, and Lamia Boumehdi, who led the TP Congolese Mazembe won this competition for the first time in its history.
The Moroccan team and AS FAR are in the running, respectively for the title of women’s national team of the year and club of the year.
The CAF Awards 2024 cover the period from January to October of the same year. The ceremony is scheduled for December 16 in Marrakech.
The winners of each category will be chosen by the votes of the CAF technical committee, media professionals, head coaches and captains of member associations, as well as clubs participating in the group stages of interclub competitions.
