Dormant since 2018, the Haute-Marne Cycling Committee is operational again. Meeting at the Maison des associations, in Chaumont, on Wednesday December 4, the presidents of the department's clubs elected a new executive office, headed by Gilles Richalet.
It was a wish of the brand new president of the Grand Est League to reestablish the Haute-Marne Cycling Committee. Florian Morizot put words into action. Wednesday evening, at the Maison des associations de Chaumont and in the presence of the new president of the Regional Committee, the presidents of the clubs in the department proceeded to the election of the new executive office of the Haute-Marne Committee.
Dormant since 2018, the Departmental Committee is reborn from its ashes. As Florian Morizot recalled, the establishment of a Committee is important “because it allows us to support the runners as well as to promote the development of the clubs and to help them in terms of organization”
Since 2018, the Departmental Committee has only had one activity, in 2023, with a mixed selection for the French Departmental Cup in U17.
Now that is a thing of the past since, on Wednesday evening, an executive office was once again set up with its head Bragard Gilles Richalet, treasurer within CB 52. New strong man of the Committee, he will be supported by Antoine Langlard (CB 52 ) as general secretary and Frédéric Laufer (VCC) who will occupy the position of general treasurer.
Florian Morizot, wanted the “little queen” in the department to get off to a good start in 2025, this is now done with healthy finances, which is far from negligible.
Gilles Richalet’s project is based on three strong axes, with the priority “of finding a pool of licensees. We must bring together a new collective of Haut-Marne clubs driven by the desire to give meaning to the action of the Departmental Committee and to encourage exchanges and pooling between structures. »
Its second hobby horse consists of “putting transparency and communication around the planned actions at the heart of its priorities. »
Finally, the new head of the Committee “wishes to establish an initial list of actions and a realistic two-year timetable, means to be implemented to put the Committee back on track. The project is therefore intended to be corrected, enriched and completed based on the feelings of other clubs.”
The election of the steering committee, Wednesday evening, therefore constitutes a first step before taking concrete actions and above all trying to restore dynamism to clubs and organizations in Haute-Marne. As Gilles Richalet points out, Haut-Marne cycling still has great pages to write.
