Carried in particular by the city of Vergèze (Gard) for more than 6 ansthe Multimodal Exchange Hub of Vergèze-Codognan (Gard) was inaugurated on Friday November 29, in the presence of the Prefect, Jérôme Bonet. It was put into service at the end of the month from October 2024. The project lasted more than two years at an estimated cost of 8.7 million euros.
329 places
Finished the rural station of Vergèze… Hello to the new one Multimodal hub, ultramodern. A new bicycle parking was arranged. It is right next to another free parking lot for cars. No less than 329 places have been developed, including 180 already existing on the so-called Quiquillon site.
Of numerous charging stations for electric vehicles have also been installed.
For public transport, three which were developed and a lane reserved for buses was created to provide better circulation local and regional buses around the new hub.
Two years
The pedestrian access points to enter the new site have all been redesigned. Access points suitable for visually impaired people have also been provided.
Within the building, the stairs have all been renovated. Two elevators have been installed. Access to all platforms has also been resumed in order to make them accessible to all travelers and people with reduced mobility.
The project ultimately lasted almost two years for a total cost estimated at 8.7 million euros. The community of communes paid 4.30 million euros in this major project.
In detail, the Occitanie Region has, for its part, injected nearly 2.36 million eurosthe Prefecture of Gard has invested 760 000 euros. Finally, the Department of Gard financed this project to the tune of 475 507 euros.
