The black series of fatal accidents on the roads of Tarn continues. This Tuesday, December 3, around 12:30 p.m., a 21-year-old motorist lost her life in a collision with a truck.
A new fatal accident occurred this Tuesday, December 3 at the beginning of the afternoon, on the RD612, at the exit of Vénès, in the direction of Castres. The emergency response is currently underway. According to our information, it was a rear-end collision between a truck from the company “Evolutrans” and a car. The driver of the latter, a young volunteer firefighter hired by the department and former JSP in Castres, aged 21, died despite resuscitation attempts. The truck driver, who felt unwell when the student's death was announced, was evacuated to the Pays d'Autan hospital. In total, 13 firefighters from the centers of Albi, Réalmont, Graulhet and Castres were mobilized. The gendarmes of the Castres Motorized Brigade and the Vielmur Brigade carried out the first observations. On social networks, the Tarn Departmental Fire and Rescue Service invited users to “avoid the area and facilitate access for emergency services”. A gendarmerie investigation should determine the exact circumstances of this new road tragedy. Through a press release, the SDIS of Tarn, in conjunction with the president of the Department and the prefect of Tarn, expressed its “most sincere condolences and support to his family and loved ones in this terrible ordeal”.
9 deaths in less than 15 days
On November 17, five young people lost their lives in Gaillac. Four victims were burned to death in the vehicle and one was found deceased outside the vehicle. The next day, Thursday November 28, a spectacular road accident occurred around 4 a.m. at the Tête au Garric roundabout. Two people were rescued and a third victim, a woman, was found deceased under the vehicle. On December 1, on route de Lautrec in Castes, a 26-year-old young man was found dead in his vehicle that had left the road.
