On October 29, 2024, while announcing to the general public that Vire Normandy (Calvados) would be the finish town for the sixth stage of the Tour de France next year, Régis Picot had a clear objective: “To ensure that we still remember it twenty years later. » The event of July 10, 2025 alone should be significant, but for the deputy mayor responsible for major events, we must go even further. This involves a multitude of events linked to the Grande Boucle until D-day. “There will be at least one meeting every month,” announces Régis Picot.
