The victory of the left at the national level is also reflected in the Rhône, in Lyon and its surroundings in particular. The various candidates invested by the New Popular Front thus succeeded in obtaining 7 constituencies out of 14 in the Rhône.

Here are the municipalities that voted the most for the NFP in the Lyon metropolitan area.

Two municipalities with more than 75%

Unsurprisingly, the municipality that voted the most in favour of the New Popular Front is Saint-Fons, with nearly 75.64% of the votes cast. It is closely followed by Vénissieux and its 75.21%. These two municipalities are both located in the 14th constituency of the Rhône, the one where Idir Boumertit, LFI candidate supported by the NFP, was elected.

Vaulx-en-Velin then arrives on the third step of this podium with 69.80% of the votes for the LFI candidate invested by the NFP, Abdelkader Lahmar.

An unexpected commune puts the left in the lead

Traditionally anchored on the right, the commune of Champagne-au-Mont-d’Or surprisingly put the left in the lead. While the final result is close, it is indeed candidate Anne Reybaut who won 34.14% of the vote, compared to 33.74% for Nathalie Serre of the Republicans and 32.12% for Jonathan Gery of the National Rally (elected in the 8th constituency).
