The closing ceremony of the 2024 general interest mission of the SNU of the Haute-Garonne Gendarmerie cadets took place recently.
29 cadets from the Haute-Garonne Gendarmerie were celebrated during the closing ceremony of their mission of general interest as part of the Universal National Service (SNU). This event marked the completion of their commitment to phase 2 of the SNU, a mission that embodies citizen involvement and dedication to serving the community.
During this ceremony, the young women and men of the Gendarmerie were congratulated for their active participation, thus illustrating the fundamental values of the Republic. These young people, in partnership with the Gendarmerie cadet associations, were welcomed and supervised to carry out their actions of solidarity and commitment. The National Gendarmerie, a key partner of the SNU, thus contributes to the development of the spirit of citizenship among young people.
“Bravo to you, young women and young men, who, through your commitment, have translated into action the values of the Republic to which we are all attached. Through this commitment, dear cadets, you have demonstrated your desire to invest in the service of the community I wish you to spread beyond these walls the lessons you have learned, be this citizen breath that keeps the Republic alive”, underlined Houda Vernhet, chief of staff of the Prefect of the Occitanie region and Prefect of the Haute. -Garonne, in a speech full of recognition and encouragement.
This commitment of cadets, both on the ground and in the values they embody, is part of an objective of strengthening social cohesion and solidarity. The general interest mission, through the SNU, allows young people to discover responsibilities and understand the importance of collective action within their community.
The year 2024 thus marks a new milestone in the involvement of youth in large-scale citizen projects, supported by institutions such as the National Gendarmerie and regional prefectures. These young people, with their experiences, are now called to become relays of republican values and committed actors in society.
Congratulations to all the cadets for their dedication, and for having illustrated through their actions the spirit of Universal National Service. Their journey has only just begun, and their investment will continue to extend well beyond the Gendarmerie.
