What happened this Sunday 1^is December to Porté-Puymorens (Pyrénées-Orientales), on the road to Andorra? The day after the bus accident which left two dead and dozens of injuredthe investigation continues to try to find out the causes of the tragedy. A Spanish transport company is in turmoil.

An investigation opened against the transport company

The 47 people who were in the damaged bus this Sunday in Porté-Puymorens, most of them Colombians, are from the area around Hospitalet de Llobregat, in the suburbs of Barcelona. Just like the transport company which would have organized the journey, announced this Monday the mayor of the town, David Quirós.

The Catalan elected official also made revelations to the press, indicating that the latter, Chavi Tours, no longer had authorization to operate as a transport company, “for years”:

A few hours earlier, our colleagues fromThe Newspaper revealed the strange conditions in which this stay between Barcelona and Andorra was organized. The Spanish newspaper mentions “a promotion of 27 euros widely distributed on the WhatsApp network between compatriots of this nationality (Colombian, editor’s note).”

“It was a round trip to Andorra to go shopping and take advantage of Black Friday offers in the principality,” mentions the daily, which confirms that the company Chavi Tours was at the origin of this trip. What a company representative would have denied.

Alarming Google reviews

In Spain, the Chavi Tours company is now in turmoil, following the events. Especially since, on Google, the company displays reviews that are, to say the least,… alarming.

Credited with a very mediocre rating of 1.6/5 (average of 32 reviews), former “customers” share their experience: “Disastrous and broken down buses, all with a lot of kilometers, they are not serious, each trip is a new adventure”, we can read, in was barely two months ago.

“If you want to take a trip full of surprises and you like risk and excitement, don't hesitate, travel with Chavi,” adds another review, posted this year. When many others also mention a “scam”.

Brake failure?

If, for the moment, the investigation is only just beginning to find out the circumstances which caused this terrible accident, some witnesses and passengers speak of a possible brake failure. In any case, that's what the driver shouted, before zigzagging on the road and driving the bus into the cliff.

This hypothesis has not yet been confirmed by the authorities.
