Since Monday, December 2, 2024, the road between Saint-Nazaire and Saint-Lyphard (Loire-Atlantique) near Sandun has been completely closed. Impossible to slip between the barriers. The path is impassable. A decision taken by the public works company and the town of Guérande in the face of incivility from motorists, who, by forcing their way, endangered employees working on the road.
Employees in danger
Hit blocks, damaged equipment, excessive speed and above all endangerment of employees working on this section of road under construction, the ongoing developments are not to the taste of certain motorists (nearly 10,000 of them use this departmental road every day ). They do not hesitate to go beyond the barriers to avoid the deviation of a few kilometers.
Close the road to protect the teams
To the point that the company Viaud Moter, charged by the city of Guérande with the developments, alerted the municipal police to issue tickets. In vain.
It was not the local residents who forced the passage since they were authorized. But these are motorists who do not want to take the detour. Faced with the danger for our teams, we decided to completely close the road to work in complete safety. But we understand the discomfort.
The construction company regularly observes this type of behavior.
Residents penalized
Residents, who share the company's decision, believe they are the first to be penalized.
Because of the incivility of some people, we find ourselves having to take another detour to return home. Initially, access was only to be prohibited just during the application of the coatings (they will take place on December 5 and 6, 2024). There it's longer.
The end of the Sandun works is scheduled for around December 20, 2024, at best and depending on climatic hazards.
Another road closed
On this same road, another construction site fuels the conversions. At the Bauvron bend, in the town of Saint-André-des-Eaux, work on the roadway stretching over 10 meters has caused, since November 18, 2024, a deviation of 25 km in the direction of Saint-André -des-Eaux Saint-Lyphard.
From December 4, 2024 until December 13, 2024, this portion will be completely closed in both directions.
Enough to further tense the thousands of users who use the RD 47.
