Secours populaire is launching its Christmas campaign, calling for donations, particularly toys. For Régis Dumas, employee of the association, “it's bringing solidarity to life during the end-of-year celebrations and making this festive period a real moment of joy and conviviality for all.” This operation, entitled “Green Santa Claus”, concerns 5,800 families in the Côtes-d’Armor department.
Every initiative is a donation
Secours populaire is calling on all partnerships that can brighten up the end-of-year celebrations for those supported. For example, in the past, 50 children were invited to a works council Christmas tree to watch a show. Cinema screenings were offered, students from IUT Briochin collected toys in their establishment, “solidarity” bookstores and also generous anonymous donors, “Mother Christmases”, each year buy and deliver large quantities of toys.
To become a Green Santa, it is possible for people, associations, communities, schools and businesses to participate in the operation by collecting and offering new or undamaged toys, festive products, festive moments or even by making a financial donation to the Secours populaire closest to them or on the internet.
Volunteers for the packages
During this busy period, Secours populaire is looking for volunteers to wrap gifts in the department's nine partner stores, five of which are in the Briochine area, to ensure relay and continuity in good conditions.
