The feat did not happen again this Saturday, November 30 in Angoulême (Charente). The players of theAngoulême Charente football club are eliminated from the Coupe de France in the 8th round after a defeat against Clermont Foot 63.
Everything started perfectly for the Charentais who managed to open the scoring after just four minutes of play thanks to a goal scored by Paul Venot. Until the 22nd minute, everything was going well for Angoulême which was reduced to 10 after the expulsion of Paul Bentayou following a poorly controlled tackle.
With one player less, the situation was much more complicated for the Angoumoisins who conceded a goal five minutes before half-time. Despite the numerical inferiority, the Charentais stood up to the Clermontois who nevertheless managed to score the winning goal in the 70th minute of play.
Angoulême comes out with its head held high!
If the Angoumoisins will not see the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France, they can be proud of their progress. They achieved a feat against Rodez during the 7th round and came close to repeating the feat this Saturday, November 30 against Clermont.
The Angoumoisins are now refocusing on the National 2 championship.
