Monday December 2, 2024 at the Mulhouse Police Hall, Thierry Queffélec, prefect of Haut-Rhin, welcomed the 17 new peacekeepers who are coming to strengthen the ranks of the national police in Haut-Rhin.
These young recruits, ready to fully commit to the safety and well-being of Haut-Rhin residents, embody the values of service, dedication and professionalism.
These police officers will occupy field jobs in the districts of Mulhouse, Colmar, Wittenheim, Saint-Louis and within the departmental Border Police service.
The prefect praised their commitment: “By choosing the profession of police officer, you become one of the foundations of our democratic state.”

The State representative recalled the importance of their mission in our department: “Haut-Rhin is an ideal place to learn your job as a peacekeeper, because our department focuses on diverse issues in terms of public security.
In addition, the department borders; it is therefore confronted with threats imported from outside. Finally, Basel-Mulhouse airport is one of the largest in France, and where the vigilance of law enforcement must be permanent.

The prefect then wished them full development in their new assignment.
In conclusion, he assured them of the local State's resolute support for their action.
