On December 1, Netflix and the Champs-Élysées Committee transformed the most beautiful avenue in the world into an enormous playground to celebrate the long-awaited return of Squid Game on December 26. A tribute to Hwang Dong-hyeok's series, where 456 participants, chosen at random from thousands of volunteers, stormed the avenue, ready to do anything to “survive” – we agree. Under the implacable eye of Young-hee, the giant doll, the players in green tracksuits competed in a life-size “1, 2, 3 Sun”, where each move was costly.
The teams, led by content creators Maghla, Just Riadh and Inoxtag, guided their troops in this experience where strategy and team spirit were the key to survival. After a first round, the general public was treated to a second session full of twists and turns. The winners – Inoxtag and 68 other players – hit the jackpot: a VIP ticket for the screening of Squid Game Season 2 at the Grand Rex, December 10. Game over? Not yet.
456 candidates, only one winner: who will survive the hell of children's games?
If you missed the phenomenon Squid Gameimagine a world where money is the only game worth playing. Squid Gameit's an ultimate bet: 456 players in debt, ready to do anything for a fortune that could give them a chance to start again from scratch. Except that the rules are simple, and the price of the entry ticket is inhumane. Children's games revisited as death traps, fragile alliances, betrayals aplenty… each turn is an adrenaline rush until the last second. A very explosive cocktail of social tension, criticism of the system and well-balanced scenes of violence. All in a macabre circus setting, where hope turns to terror, and where everyone is ready to sell their soul for a little redemption. Basically: a board game that no one wants to play.
