While a political crisis is looming, protests are not weakening in Gard at the end of the year among civil servants, railway workers, retirees and farmers.

Thursday, December 5, two days after a first action by retirees (gathering on December 3, 10:30 a.m., in front of the Alès sub-prefecture), as part of a call for a strike launched at the national level by Sud, the CFDT, Unsa, FSU, CGT and SNALC, civil servants will mobilize: “The increase from one to three days of waiting time, the reduction in compensation for sick leave are punitive measures as if civil servants were guilty of being ill even though successive governments bear heavy responsibility for the deterioration of their working conditions and their health.”
Working conditions and salaries have strained the civil service. Among teachers, we want the elimination of the waiting day, the revaluation of the index point, a real status also for those accompanying students with disabilities and the abandonment of the proposed job cuts. The unions are therefore calling on Thursday, December 5 to gather in Alès, from 10 a.m., in front of the sub-prefecture, and in Nîmes, at 2 p.m., in front of the Maison Carrée.
