A woman died in Le Gosier this Sunday. His floating body was spotted, then recovered on the beach of Petit-Havre. An investigation has been opened to determine the cause and circumstances of this death, which has already been deemed suspicious.
The Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS) was contacted at 3:56 p.m., this Sunday 1is December 2024, regarding a suspected drowning at sea. Firefighters were called to intervene on the beach of Petit-Havre, in Le Gosier.
At the scene, they found a deceased victim. This is a woman in her forties. The unfortunate woman had been seen floating in the water. Since she was already in cardiac arrest, the doctor from the Mobile Emergency and Resuscitation Service (SMUR) could only pronounce death.
It appears that this case presents a “medico-legal obstacle“, that is to say that this death is considered suspicious. Several scenarios are possible: suicide, aggression, accident, etc.
The body was placed under the responsibility of the police and the justice system. The investigation, including an autopsy, must shed light on the facts.
