The announcement of the death of Solveig Letouzé Houdy which occurred on Friday November 29 in her hairdressing salon, rue du Moulin in Vimoutiers (Orne), victim of a heart attack, aroused great emotion in the Vimonasterian city where the hairdresser worked, as well as on the Sap plateauwhere she resided. The shock is followed by sadness and the feeling of a profound injustice that life has in store for all those, numerous, who knew it and who esteemed it.
She had just turned 55
She had just celebrated her 55th birthday on November 20. A disappearance as sudden as it is unexpected which leaves her parents, her husband, Hervéhis three children, Jules, Adrien and Hortensehis employee Valérie Gibouryher friends and her customers, in the dismay and pain of the loss of this sparkling, smiling, generous woman, who loved life and people.
Based in Vimoutiers since 2001
A hardworking woman who had values that she passed on to her children. Children that she cherished, just like her husband, Hervé, with whom she had taken the plunge, in 2023, by formalizing their union after many years of living together.
Solveig had taken over this hairdressing salon at 1is April 2001, succeeding Francine Pourcel. It was also through Valérie that she learned about it. After handling scissors and a hairdryer for fifteen years in a Parisian salon, she returned to her native region to join her partner. She was able to quickly build up a clientele and among them, friends. She had also kept Valérie as an employee.
“A great boss”
Very affected, Valérie nevertheless testifies.
She was a great boss, friend and confidante. In over twenty-three years, there has never been one word higher than the other. It was a pleasure to work with her. There wasn't a day, or even an hour, when one or the other didn't talk nonsense. Which made the customers laugh. This in no way prevented the work from being done.
Isabelle Routier chaired the commercial union for fifteen years. She retains “a businesswoman who is up for everything, as soon as we launch a project or an idea. She was never far away to lend a hand, always discreet and positive.”
A final tribute Saturday December 7
Delphine Lecordier is at the same time her neighbor, a friend and a customer. “She knew how to brighten our daily lives with her good humor. When I passed her in the morning by car [elle me disait, passe devant la voisine, tu es encore en retard]always with a little touch of humor.
Our Kind Neighbors Day, as we call it, will no longer have the same flavor without Solveig. His absence will leave a big void in our little hamlet of Bois Ecard.
Everyone has a moving thought for his family, to whom The Norman Awakening joins in presenting its sincere saddened condolences. A final tribute will be paid to him during his funeral which will be celebrated, Saturday December 7at 10 a.m., at the Notre-Dame de Vimoutiers church.
