Was the leader of RPPRAC Guadeloupe guilty of “blocking” the Carrefour Contact brand in Grand-Camp on December 17? The judicial court will say it next Friday, after yesterday's summary summons. However, the movement against the high cost of living and the commercial practices of local brands continues. Activists were stationed at the Destreland roundabout this Saturday to raise consumer awareness.

The Rally for the Protection of Afro-Caribbean Peoples and Resources (RPPRAC) is still making news in the Antilles.

In Guadeloupe, the local representative of this association was summoned for summary proceedings, yesterday morning (Friday November 29, 2024), at the Pointe-à-Pitre judicial court, following what the courts consider to be a “blocking” of the Carrefour Contact supermarket in Grand-Camp, in Abymes. On Sunday, November 17, a handful of members of RPPRAC Guadeloupe had, in fact, gathered in front of the store to denounce the sale of expired products, as well as anomalies on prices and practices.
The supermarket management requested a ban on access to the store, against the accused. The judge will make his decision next Friday.
“We are in a country where we do not have the right to speak”comments today an activist from RPPRAC Guadeloupe.

Although this leader is worried by the judicial authorities, this collective against the high cost of living and another movement Karukéra Conscience, are at the origin of a new mobilization, this Saturday, November 30; this time in Destreland. The members demonstrated at the access roundabout to the Baie-Mahault shopping center… in the middle of Black Friday, a weekend dedicated to consumption, under the cover of attractive price reductions.
This was a consumer awareness campaign.

People don't realize the price they pay ! This is not possible !

There is a historical context which makes it important for Guadeloupeans to realize that they must consume differently and that they must not let prices and an oppressive political system dictate to them. price and consumption here.

As a reminder, the president of RPPRAC , Rodrigue Petitot, says “the R“, was placed in pre-trial detention at the Ducos penitentiary center on Friday until his immediate appearance, scheduled for Monday, December 2. He is being prosecuted for “threats, acts of intimidation and incitement to racial hatred“. Furthermore, the prefecture prohibits the demonstration planned in the city center of Fort-de- on Monday.
