On the last day of a hearing that lasted three, Judge Catherine Piché heard from Sam’s lawyers Joseph Abrams, Raymond Poulet and Helmut Lippmann, all former employees of the company Future Electronics founded and recently sold by Mr. Miller .

According to the class action lawsuit, Robert Miller, 81, the company and three employees were involved in an alleged scheme to recruit young girls in Montreal to have sex with Mr. Miller in exchange for money and gifts in the 1990s and 2000s.

Lawyers for ex-employees of Mr. Miller and Future Electronics told the court today that their clients should not be part of the lawsuit because they were not involved in any of the sexual allegations made by the women.

Earlier this week, lawyer Jeff Orenstein told the court that 51 alleged victims had come forward to his office and that the real number could be as high as 100.

Mr. Miller has repeatedly denied the allegations and argued that the women should sue him individually rather than collectively in a class action.

Me Piché said she would take the matter under advisement and decide at a later date whether to authorize the class action.
