An information center dedicated to the teaching of the Russian language and the dissemination of Russian culture will be inaugurated on December 4 in Rabat, resulting from a collaboration between the Russian-Moroccan Alliance (RMA), the Polytechnic University of Saint Petersburg (SPbPU) and the consortium “Russian-African Network University” (RAFU), Barlamane.com learned from its sources. This project is part of a strategic framework to strengthen diplomatic and cultural relations between Russia and Morocco.

The center, which will be founded in the presence of Moroccan and Russian diplomats, will aim “to offer a rigorous methodological and pedagogical approach in the teaching of Russian based on didactic programs developed by experts in applied linguistics and foreign language teaching”according to our information. This institution will be intended “to develop the linguistic skills of Moroccan students in Russian by combining classic and modern language teaching approaches including digital tools and multimedia supports.” The project will also allow “to strengthen students’ abilities in understanding Russian literature, Russian history and traditional cultural practices, with particular emphasis on Russia’s scientific contribution to the fields of humanities, mathematics and technology .»

The ceremony, according to our information, “will bring together Moroccan political and diplomatic figures as well as Russian officials from the ministries of foreign affairs and education.” This center will primarily focus on the establishment of pre-university programs, adapted to the rigorous academic requirements of Russian higher education institutions. It will offer young Moroccans the opportunity to acquire advanced language skills and acquire in-depth academic preparation in order to succeed in entrance exams to Russian universities.

The role of this institution will not only be limited to language teaching, but will also serve to promote scientific and cultural exchanges between the two countries, through conferences, specialized seminars and practical workshops, with a view to strengthening academic cooperation and to promote the integration of students into international exchange programs. The center “will also help students choose their university orientation by guiding them through the Russian education system, while offering them personalized support in developing their professional career plans.”

This project, both educational and strategic, embodies an ambitious vision of intercultural and scientific cooperation, contributing to a rapprochement of Russian and Moroccan society through education and culture.
