With the weather getting cooler, the time for hats, toques and mittens is back. The opportunity to review your wardrobe and why not, to be tempted by new accessories “made in Tarn” created by Nelly Treilles. For 25 years now, she has been designing clothes and accessories with her brand Ricoco.
Ponchos, capes, scarves… In her tailoring workshop in Albi, she imagines and creates clothes according to the season with her elegant style combining comfort and practicality. Series of five or six pieces are thus put together by him and two ranges are offered each year for women.
However, she started out by making clothes for children: “I wanted a change. It was a field that didn’t necessarily attract me at the beginning,” says the Albigensian.
These clothes were a hit at the made in France show
“It’s the material that inspires me. Everything starts from the fabric,” explains Nelly Treilles. From faux fur and fleece in winter to linen and cotton in summer, the designer likes to mix materials together to create unique pieces. His clothes are resold in the designer boutique “L'Art et la Matière” in Burlats and recently in Carmaux in the store “Éthique et Chic”. Its customers can also go directly to its workshop (by appointment) to order tailor-made pieces.
His clothes met with some success at the Made in France trade show in Paris. “The ponchos and capes were a hit. I had a lot of pre-orders,” says the designer. “It was a good experience to see if my models were popular. It also motivates me to work in France too.” For her first participation in the show, she left with 70 ponchos and 150 hats. She came back with an almost empty trunk.
A saddlery workshop
Recently, Nelly Treilles has turned to transport and furniture upholstery. It repairs motorcycle and bicycle saddles, but also car seats. “I was looking to work with other materials. So I decided to take training to become a saddle maker,” she explains. A new string to his already full bow.
