A further increase in the price of the Navigo Pass is planned for January 2025.
TRANSPORT – News that will surely not please the wallets of Ile-de-France residents. The price of the Navigo Pass, which allows you to take public transport in the region, is expected to increase by 2.8% in January 2025. The Monthly Pass will increase from 86.40 euros to 88.80 euros, or 2.40 euros of more than today. It had already increased at the beginning of 2024.
According to information from France Bleu Paris, this new price list will be voted on by the administrators of Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) on December 11. The annual Navigo Pass will also increase from €950.40 to €976.80, that is to say €26.40 more to pay. The annual Imagine R package intended for students will not be spared either, and will increase from €374.40 to €384.30.
As specified by the local media, this increase will not be the last since this new price scale is part of the transport financing protocol, signed between IDFM and the State in 2023. This provides for price increases until 2031, without exceeding « l’inflation +1 % ». The contribution of communities must also increase regularly.
A new single price
No more zones, from now on there will only be two types of single tickets for those who only take transport occasionally. The price for taking the bus and tram will be set at €2, and the ticket for the metro, Transilien and RER will be €2.50, regardless of the route taken.
Another small revolution, no more books of 10 tickets. New pricing also for journeys between Paris and its airports. All means of transport will have a single price: 13 euros. This is more or less the average of the four tickets today, the Roissy bus being 16.60 euros, the Roissy RER at 11.80, the Orly bus at 11.50 and the Orly metro at 10.30 .
