It's a fight that seems like a never-ending story, the agents of the Dzoumogné maternity ward are still uncertain about their future. They are still demonstrating and still asking the CHM to clarify the situation.

The agents of the Dzoumogné maternity hospital still mobilized since the closure of their establishment. Even if they do not lose hope, they now say they want to hear the management of the CHM tell them things clearly, that the maternity ward will close permanently instead of giving them an ambiguous message.

This Wednesday, pregnant women and mothers joined their movement to demand the reopening of the premises.

As a reminder, since July 2023, the Dzoumogné and Mramadoudou maternity wards are no longer functional. A decision taken by the Mayotte hospital center, justified by the lack of health personnel.

Last November 19, uAn unlimited strike notice was filed at the Mayotte hospital center by agents of the Dzoumogné and Mramadoudou maternity wards, the CFDT and Sud Santé Sociaux as of Tuesday, November 26.

The inter-union wants in particular to denounce the situation of the agents with the closure of the two sites for two years, it calls for the reopening of these maternity wards and is opposed to the redeployment of agents on the other sites.

This follows to the right of withdrawal exercised this Monday, November 18 by agents of the Kahani and Mamoudzou maternity wards to denounce an overload of work. “We are saturated, we are tired, all the work falls to us and yet we do not have the staff we need“, says an ASH from the Mamoudzou maternity ward. “Management said that they would ensure that by the end of the week colleagues would come and give us a helping hand. But we don't want a helping hand, we want solutions.”
