Anne Hidalgo's legacy at Paris City Hall is also this: extraordinary resources allocated to communication, within a municipality already regularly singled out for its lavish spending… and its alarming deficit. The craziest figures have been circulating. We have sometimes mentioned up to 500 communicators… the reality is not so far from the legend: according to the latest count carried out by the city services themselves, there are almost 400. Of which at least 10% were added under the mandates of Anne Hidalgo.
In the latest systematic study presented by the General Inspectorate of the City of Paris, everything is done to drown out the reality of this astronomical figure. The town hall in fact employs an entire department dedicated to the matter: DICOM, information and communication department.
